July 7, 2021

With an increase in ransomware attacks and cybersecurity breaches, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) is taking steps to make sure construction projects are more secure during their design and construction. Many of the breaches over recent years have come through portals created for contractors building, installing and maintaining systems. In response, the DoD has decided that contractors need to have a mandatory level of cybersecurity in place.

The United States Department of Defense has created the new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standard that will soon be required for corporations and entities that want to bid as a contractor, or act as a subcontractor, for DoD projects.

This resources below are designed to give electrical and mechanical contractor corporate leadership and their IT Directors an overview of the CMMC standard. The resources below will also answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the CMMC and cut through much of the confusion and technical jargon that has surrounded the CMMC since its launch in January 2020.
