MCAA Safety Leadership Represented at OSHA Alliance Program Forum

September 5, 2025

The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing safety and health in the construction industry. Recently, MCAA Safety and Health Committee Chair Mike Nahas and MCAA Executive Director of Safety, Health, and Risk Management Raffi Elchemmas attended the OSHA Alliance Program Forum held at the United States Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.

As national alliance participants, MCAA representatives engaged in critical discussions and received updates on injury and fatality data that impact the construction sector. The forum featured insights from senior Department of Labor officials, including Acting Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA Amanda Wood Laihow, as well as national updates from NIOSH and the Directorate of Construction.

This high-level collaboration underscores MCAA’s proactive role in shaping safety standards and ensuring that its members have access to the most current and relevant information. By participating in forums like this, MCAA reinforces its safety and health leadership and provides its members with the best opportunities to stay informed and engaged.

“This type of collaboration sets MCAA apart,” said Elchemmas. “It ensures our members are not only informed but also actively involved in the national conversation around workplace safety.”
